The face of summer

All right. We managed to get our camera back from the repair shop a couple weeks ago and caught a few memorable shots of of some of our activity over the past month. We didn't get everything documented so I'm sorry about that. Overall though, here's our most recent activity rundown.

Visit from Lisa, Ben, and Tim

It was great of Lisa to drive up here with her boys even if it was just for a short time. There were plans to float the river, but the water level was too high so we went to the waterpark instead.

Visual images:
Travis, Ben, and Tim covered in goosebumps - Ben and Tim saying they were just fine, Travis complaining about the cold and going to find a towel. Granted, it did get a little cold when the rain and wind started up... they ended up closing the park early much to Carsen's dismay.

Lisa and a very round Vickie walking up to a slide trying to see if we could take down a very patient little 4 year old only to come to halt at a sign at the base saying anyone with a back injury (Lisa) or who was pregnant (me), should NOT go down.

3 big boys - Travis, Ben, and Tim, lined up in swimming apparel in front of the fire at the pizza place still shivering.

3 big boys enjoying their cartoons at the end of the day. Thank you Ben and Tim for getting Travis hooked on "Avatar- The Last Airbender". He spent the rest of that weekend staying up much too late to finish the rest of season 3.

Mom and Dad Edwards 4th of July

Mom and Dad came for a visit and ended up getting dragged by a very anxious Carsen and an even more anxious Travis to float the Boise River.
Visual image:
Mom and Dad walking in from their float soaked! I'm afraid they went out regardless of the wind chill factor and came back to a very cool air conditioned house. Hope they've warmed up!

Mom, Dad, and Keith's visit

I guess the best pictures we have over the past month are of Carsen and Keith playing together. Some things you need to know: Keith doesn't like water. As kids, we had a deal - I would play "Tie One On" with Keith if he would run through the sprinklers with me. Good for Keith for following through on all our deals, but it was done with a face similar to the one below...

VICKIE!!! OH SHOOT, Carsen's getting me wet!

Fortunately, Keith still found a way to tease his little friend. UNfortunately, Carsen can hold his own as you'll see from the following slides.

Last weekend Travis took Carsen golfing which was a great idea. He needed to work out some extra energy and we figured a walk around the golf course was just the thing. However, I guess the course they went to was very long and they ended up walking several miles so that Travis had to carry Carsen at least for part of the time.

We also took Cars to see Toy Story 3 which, in my opinion, is the best of all the Toy Story movies. Carsen covered his eyes during the more intense part, ate an enormous amount of popcorn (that's my boy), and told us that he did NOT like Lotso Huggin Bear.

So now we're just trying to settle down and get in some extra rest before we HAVE to decide on a name :)

  1. Looks like you have been having so much fun! Can't wait to hear the name. Dont feel pressured to tell anyone till after he's here and named. Then they won't give you thier opinion! :) Love the pictures. The images in my mind were so funny!
